NHL

The Detroit Red Wings fell to the Tampa Bay Lightning 2-1 yesterday. Filip Zadina scored Detroit’s only goal. Jonathon Bernier made 40 saves, and took the loss.

NBA

The Detroit Pistons visit the Orlando Magic tonight. Coverage begins at 6:35 on 99.3 The Lift.

MLB

The Detroit Tigers collected just two hits yesterday, and lost to the New York Yankees 2-0. New York starter Corey Kluber struck out 10 batters over eight innings. Detroit starter José Ureña was almost as good, giving up two runs on just hits over seven frames, and retiring the final 17 batters he faced.

The Tigers have today off, and begin a series at Boston tomorrow night.

The Los Angeles Dodgers pounded the Milwaukee Brewers 16-4 yesterday. Alec Bettinger was rocked in his major league debut, giving up 11 runs over four innings. Jordan Zimmerman’s Brewers debut didn’t go much better, with five runs allowed over less than four frames. Jacob Nottingham hit two home runs, after his contract was repurchased from the Seattle Mariners, who had recently claimed him off waivers.

The Brewers visit the Philadelphia Phillies tonight. Adrian Houser will start against Vince Velasquez.
