High School
The Calumet High School football team will face Standish-Sterling in the state tournament regional finals this afternoon. A victory would bring the Copper Kings their first-ever regional crown. The game will start at 1:00 at Standish-Sterling Central High School. Coverage will begin at 12:40 on the Voice of the Copper Kings, KBear 102.3. Today’s winner will meet either Montague or Lansing Catholic in the semifinals next week.

The eight-player football semifinals will be completed today. Two U.P. teams remain in the field.
• In Division One, Rudyard plays at Suttons Bay. Lenawee Christian advanced to the finals by defeating Martin 34-16 last night.
• In Division Two, North Central hosts Marion today. Colon plays at Au Gres-Sims.
College Hockey
The Michigan Tech hockey team lost 3-2 in overtime to Northern Michigan University last night. The Huskies played from behind all night. Trenton Bliss scored late in the first period, and Ryland Mosley’s goal with 66 seconds remaining in regulation forced the extra period. A.J. Vanderbeck’s tally 84 seconds into overtime was the game winner. Blake Pietila took the loss in net, as the Huskies outshot the Wildcats 45-19. Tech and Northern will face off again tonight, in Marquette.
The Finlandia University men’s hockey team dropped a 4-1 decision to Aurora University last night. Phil Schader scored the Lions’ only goal. Marcus Gloss made 39 saves, but took the loss in net. Those teams play again this afternoon at 4:00 at the Houghton County Arena. Veterans and active service members get in free.
The Finlandia women’s team skates at Aurora today and tomorrow.
College Football
The Michigan Tech football team hopes to wrap up a winning season when they host Saginaw Valley State this afternoon at 1:00.
The Northern football team closes its season at home against Northwood University.
The Finlandia football squad concludes its season downstate at Olivet College.
College Basketball
The Michigan Tech and Northern Michigan women’s basketball teams begin their seasons at the NMU Invitational this weekend. The Huskies will face Lewis University today, and William Jewell University tomorrow. The Wildcats will play William Jewell today, and Lewis tomorrow.

• The Huskies lost 74-59 to McKendree last night. Adam Hobson led MTU with 17 points, and Owen White added 16. Tech will face Lewis today.
• The Wildcats defeated Lewis 67-57 last night, and take on McKendree today.
The Finlandia University men’s basketball team visits Carthage College tomorrow.
The Finlandia women’s team has the weekend off.
College Volleyball
The Tech volleyball team clinched its second straight regular-season Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship yesterday, with a 3-0 (25-18, 25-14, 25-17) sweep at Saginaw Valley State. Anna Jonynas racked up 19 kills and 15 digs. Laura De Marchi had 40 assists. The Huskies will end their regular season at Wayne State this afternoon.
College Soccer
Five Michigan Tech soccer players have earned GLIAC honors. Grace Shaw, Stephanie Yeager, Erika Gabriel, and Molly Bolang were named to the all-conference second team. Alicia Shatrau earned Honorable Mention status.

The Detroit Red Wings host the Montreal Canadiens tonight. Coverage will begin at 6:45 on 99.3 The Lift.
NBA
The Detroit Pistons’ scoring woes continued last night, as they lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers 98-78. Jerami Grant led Detroit with 16 points.
The Pistons visit the Toronto Raptors tonight.
NFL
