College Soccer
The Michigan Tech soccer team scored twice in the second half, and blanked Saint Cloud State 2-0 Saturday. Haley Ruiter and Alyvia Sanom found the net for the Huskies, with Sanom scoring off a pass from her twin sister, Makenna.
College Volleyball
The MTU volleyball team completed a sweep at the Cal State Monterey Bay Otter Invitational Saturday, with 3-0 wins over Cal State Dominguez Hills (26-24, 24-20, 24-15) and the host team (26-24, 24-20, 24-22). Outside hitter Jillian Kuizenga was named the MVP of the Invitational. Setter Lina Espejo-Ramirez and libero Carissa Beyer joined Kuizenga on the all-tournament team.
MLB
The Tigers blasted the Rangers 11-2 Saturday. Eduardo Rodriguez gave up a run over six innings, and earned the win. Detroit batters rapped out 18 hits, including home runs by Jeimer Candelario and Eric Haase, and five doubles, including two by Victor Reyes.
The Tigers play at Texas again today. Drew Hutchison will start against Kohei Arihara. Coverage begins at 2:15 on 99.3 The Lift.
The Brewers blanked the Cubs 7-0. The game was scoreless through six innings. The Crew broke it open with four in the seventh, and added three in the eighth. Christian Yelich, Willy Adames and Kolten Wong homered. Brandon Woodruff turned in six shutout innings, and struck out 10.
The Brewers will visit the Cubs again this afternoon. Eric Lauer will pitch against Adrian Sampson.
Milwaukee deposited outfielder Jonathan Davis on the injured list with an ailing elbow. They brought up prospect Garrett Mitchell from Nashville.

The Lions wrap up their preseason schedule today at Pittsburgh.
