College Basketball

The Michigan Tech men’s basketball team snapped its seven-game losing streak with a thrilling 69-68 victory over Ferris State yesterday. Marcus Tomashek’s free throw with two seconds remaining provided the winning margin. Dan Gherezher and Adam Hobson each scored 12 points.

The Huskies women’s basketball team upended 19th-ranked Ferris State 67-52. Isabella Lenz scored 20 for the Huskies.

Both Northern teams defeated Lake Superior State yesterday – the women 72-64, and the men 87-72.

The Red Wings host the Hurricanes tomorrow. Coverage begins at 6:45 on 99.3 The Lift.

NBA

The Pistons lost to the Lakers 124-117 yesterday, despite a season-high 38 points from Bojan Bogdanovic.

The Pistons visit the Hornets Wednesday.
