Tech Hockey Reveals Revised Schedule – Thursday Sports Wrap

High School

On the high school volleyball schedule tonight…
• Calumet travels to Marquette.
• Lake Linden-Hubbell, Chassell and L’Anse all had their matches against schools in Ontonagon and Gogebic Counties canceled, because schools there have shut down all face-to-face activities. So, the three teams will hold a triangular today, with the Lakes facing the Purple Hornets at 5:00, the Purple Hornets taking on the Panthers at 5:30, and the Panthers playing the Lakes at 6:00.

Peter Rouleau and Kyle Hauswirth have been named assistant hockey coaches for the Hancock High School hockey team this season. Both are former Bulldog standouts. This will be Hauswirth’s third season as an assistant, but his first under new head coach Scott Mikesch.

MTU

The 100th season of Michigan Tech hockey will begin with games at Lake Superior State November 21st and 22nd. The Huskies released their schedule yesterday. The abbreviated schedule will feature only matches with league opponents, as Tech will play out its final season in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association. Highlights include home-and-home series against Northern Michigan University on the last weekend of November, and on the final weekend of February, which will wrap up the regular season. The University of Alaska will visit for the Winter Carnival series February 5th and 6th. No games are scheduled the first weekend in March, which can be used for make-up contests for any matches postponed because of COVID-19 outbreaks. The WCHA tournament will start March 12th.

Attendance policies for Huskies home games have not yet been announced.

Northern Michigan University will begin its season with a mid-week home match against Lake Superior State November 25th.

NFL

In tonight’s NFL game, the Falcons visit the Panthers. Coverage begins at 8:00 on 99.3 The Lift.

Defensive end Everson Griffen will not be able to practice or play with the Lions until next week. Detroit traded a low-round draft pick to the Cowboys to get Griffen for the rest of the season. He can’t take the field with his new teammates until he completes the NFL’s six-day COVID-19 protocol.

Please have your picks in The Wolf Pro Football Challenge turned in by noon today at one of our sponsors.
