MLB – Tigers, Wolf Roughed Up
The Texas Rangers scored four times off new Tigers’ starter Randy Wolf in the third inning, and held on to defeat Detroit 5-3 last night. Wolf regrouped, and went seven innings. The Tigers were in danger of being shut out until Ian Kinsler hit a three-run homer in the ninth. Game details are here.

Taylor Jungmann gave up five runs over four innings, as the Milwaukee Brewers fell to the Washington Nationals 6-1 yesterday. Milwaukee’s only run came on a homer by Khris Davis. Game details are here.

The Green Bay Packers play their second exhibition game of the season today at Pittsburgh. Kickoff is at 1:00.
Team Copper Country Continues Hot Start
The Team Copper Country U18 hockey squad turned in two dominating victories at a tournament in Grand Rapids on Saturday. In their morning game, Team CC shut out the Kentwood Hawks 13-0. Houghton’s Reid Pietila had three goals, and Lance Kangas of Jeffers added two. Will Stier of Houghton got the win in net. In the afternoon game, Team CC blanked the Grand Rapids Falcons 11-0. Jacob Kruse of Houghton had four goals, and Dylan Pavola of Hancock scored twice. Ian Carroll of Calumet got the in goal, as Team CC outshot the Falcons 62-7.
On Friday, Team CC opened its fall schedule with a 6-2 victory over the Grand Rapids Blades. Today, Team CC will skate against the GRAHA Husky Hawks at 9:00, and the Grand Valley Stars at 2:30. All of their opponents are from the Grand Rapids area.
