MLB
The Detroit Tigers couldn’t hold a late lead, and lost to the Toronto Blue Jays 5-4 last night. Justin Verlander battled into the sixth, after giving up a couple of runs in the first inning. He left with a 3-2 lead, thanks to homers by Justin Upton and Nick Castellanos, and an RBI single from James McCann. Detroit added another run in the top of the seventh. The Jays began their comeback in the bottom of the seventh, when Troy Tulowitzki singled home a run off Shane Green. In the eighth, another Tulowitzki single off Alex Wilson drove in the tying and winning runs.

NBA
The Detroit Pistons have signed 7’3″ Serbian center Boban Marjanović to a three-year, 21 million-dollar offer sheet. He’s 27 years old, but just completed his rookie season NBA season with the San Antonio Spurs, averaging six points and five rebounds in nine minutes per game. He is a restricted free agent, so San Antonio has the opportunity to match the offer. Indications are that the Spurs will not do so – they already signed free agent center Dewayne Dedmon to fill the vacancy.
