The Detroit Tigers and Milwaukee Brewers both return to action tomorrow night after the All-Star break.
The Tigers open a home series against the Toronto Blue Jays. Justin Verlander will pitch against Aaron Sanchez. Pregame coverage begins at 6:45 on 99.3 The Lift.
The Brewers host the Philadelphia Phillies. Zach Davies will start against Nick Pivetta.

The Copper Country Fast Pitch Softball League wrapped up regular-season play last night…
– Sally Heinonen drove in Kim Aho with the winning run in the bottom of the seventh, as Superior National Bank edged Auto Pro Glass and Tire 3-2. Auto Pro had tied the game in the top of the seventh on an RBI single by Taylor Shepeard. Auto Pro’s first run came in the first inning, when Sarah Audette walked, and then stole second, third and home. Rosalie Anderson was the winning pitcher. She struck out a dozen. Morgan Peters took the loss.
– Mel Baker’s two-run double in the bottom of the seventh lifted Mattila Rock and Dock to an 11-10 victory over Northern Michigan Land Brokers. Baker’s blow came after Kelsey Pietila had driven home Laura Berg in the top of the inning to give Northern Michigan Land Brokers a one-run lead. Mel Grego struck out nine, and earned the win. Hannah Hill suffered the loss.
The annual All-Star game will be played tomorrow at 7:00 at the Chassell Field. The post-season tournament will open Monday night.
Twilight League

– Dean Kangas-State Farm faces REL-Mohawk Technologies at the Hancock Driving Park.
– Wolverine-Orbit meets Superior National Bank-Stanton at the Stanton field.
Finlandia
The Finlandia University men’s hockey team has added a new defenseman for the upcoming season. Adam Wammes is an Ontario native who has played the last two years for the Colorado Junior Eagles of the Western State Hockey League.

MTU
The Michigan Tech football team will be featured in an NCAA Division II Football Showcase game this fall. The Huskies’ home game against Grand Valley State on September 16th will be streamed live on ESPN3.
Canal Run
Online registration closes tonight for the Saturday’s Canal Run. The event includes a half marathon, five and 10-mile runs and walks, and a kids’ dash. If you prefer to register in person, you may do so tomorrow between 3:00 and 8:00 at the Finnish-American Heritage Center. For full details and online registration, click here.
