The Copper Country Ski Tigers won their seventh-straight state Nordic ski championship Saturday. Anabel Needham earned the individual state titles in both the sprint and the pursuit, which is the combined times of a five-k skate and a five-k classic.

NHL

The Detroit Red Wings lost to the Philadelphia Flyers 3-1 last evening. Darren Helm scored Detroit’s only goal. Goalie Jonathan Bernier left the game in the first period after a collision. Coach Jeff Blashill said he appeared to suffer a neck injury, and doesn’t believe it’s serious. The Wings will host the Chicago Blackhawks Wednesday night. NBA

The Detroit Pistons return to action Friday, when they visit the Atlanta Hawks.

MLB

The Detroit Tigers hold their first official full team workouts at spring training in Lakeland, Florida today. Listen for Tigers games again this season on 99.3 The Lift.

There are multiple reports that free agent infielder Mike Moustakas has agreed to a deal to return to the Milwaukee Brewers. Milwaukee traded for Moustakas midway through last season, and he became a key contributor in their drive to a division title. The Brewers begin full-team spring workouts tomorrow in Arizona.
