Pistons Win, Wings Fall in Shootout – Tuesday Sports Wrap

NHL

The Detroit Red Wings lost to the Dallas Stars 3-2 in a shootout last night. Luke Glendening’s second goal of the night with three minutes remaining in regulation forced the extra period. Jason Robertson and Dylan Larkin scored in the first round of the shootout. Denis Gurianov’s tally in the fifth round was the game-winner. Thomas Griess made 34 saves for Detroit.

The Wings visit the Stars again this evening. We’ll join the game in progress after Tigers baseball on 99.3 The Lift.

NBA

The Detroit Pistons edged the Cleveland Cavaliers 109-105 last night. Saddiq Bey led Detroit with 20 points. Isaiah Stewart added 18 points, and grabbed 16 rebounds. The Pistons played without usual starters Jerami Grant, Mason Plumlee and Cory Joseph.

The Pistons visit the Dallas Mavericks tomorrow night.

MLB

The Detroit Tigers had yesterday off, and host the Pittsburgh Pirates tonight. Michael Fulmer will pitch against Tyler Anderson. Coverage will begin at 6:20 on 99.3 The Lift.

The Milwaukee Brewers shut down the San Diego Padres 3-1 last night. Brandon Woodruff turned in a strong start, giving up a run on just one hit. Brent Suter allowed the Padres’ only other hit. Luis Urías, Billy McKinney and Tyrone Taylor hit solo home runs for the Crew.

The Brewers play at San Diego again tonight. Corbin Burnes will start against Chris Paddack.
