NHL
The Red Wings entertain the Blackhawks tomorrow. Coverage will begin at 6:40 on 99.3 The Lift.
Goaltender Ville Husso will be with the Wings for tomorrow night’s contest. He’s been called up from Grand Rapids because of the upper body injury Alex Lyon suffered in Tuesday’s game.
The Wings have also placed defenseman Jeff Petry on injured reserve. He was hurt in Detroit’s game against the Blackhawks a week ago.
NFL
Packers quarterback Jordan Love was limited in practice yesterday, as he tries to recover from the elbow injury that forced him out of last Sunday’s loss to the Bears. After the workout, he said he’s “hopeful” that he’ll be ready for this Sunday’s playoff opener against the Eagles.
It’s not just the Detroit Lions assistant coaches who are attracting attention from other teams. Offensive coordinator Ben Johnson will interview for the Patriots’ head coaching job tomorrow. New England has also become the latest team to add Detroit defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn to their list. Now, there’s a report that the Jets are interested in former Lions great Chris Spielman for their general manager job. Spielman is currently a special consultant for Detroit, and is given much credit for helping to turn around the organization.
