Michigan Tech runner Clayton Sayen has been named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Track Athlete of the Week.

The former Houghton Gremlin earned an NCAA provisional qualifying time in the 1500 at the recent Raleigh Relays.

The Pistons lost to the Bucks 126-117 last night. Jaden Ivey scored 32 points for Detroit.

MLB

The Brewers dropped a 12-8 slugfest to the Rockies yesterday. William Contreras hit two home runs, and drove in six runs. Brian Anderson knocked one out. Starter Eric Lauer pitched into the fifth, and gave up five runs on nine hits.

The Brewers will wrap up their Cactus League campaign against the Cubs this afternoon. Corbin Burnes will start for Milwaukee.

Milwaukee has signed a one-year contract with first baseman Luke Voit. Voit had opted out of the minor league contract he signed with Milwaukee several days ago. The Brewers have also confirmed that infielder Keston Hiura has been designated for assignment.

The Tigers will open the regular season Thursday afternoon at Tampa Bay. Eduardo Rodriguez will face Shane McClanahan. Coverage will begin at 2:50 on 99.3 The Lift.

Detroit added some infield depth yesterday, obtaining Zach McKinstry from the Cubs. McKinstry batted .199 with five homers in 57 games with the Dodgers and Cubs last season. He played college ball at Central Michigan University. In exchange, the Tigers sent minor league pitcher Carlos Guzman to Chicago.

In other moves, Detroit optioned outfielder Akil Baddoo and utility player Zack Short to Toledo.
