High School

In high school hockey…
• Because of the weather, last night’s second game of the Copper Island Classic between Hancock and Calumet was postponed. It will be made up Tuesday, January 3rd at the Colosseum, with coverage beginning at 6:40 on the Voice of the Copper Kings, KBear 102.3.

GLHL

Last night’s game between the Portage Lake Pioneers and the Calumet Wolverines was also postponed because of the weather. No make-up date has been announced.

NHL

Weather also forced postponement of the Red Wings’ game at Ottawa last night. It has been rescheduled to February 27th.

NBA

The Pistons couldn’t hold a halftime lead, and lost to the Hawks 130-105 last night. Bojan Bogdanovic lead Detroit with 23 points.

The Pistons have dropped five straight, and host the Clippers on Monday.

NFL

Most of this weekend’s NFL games will be played today…
• The Lions will visit the Panthers in a 1:00 game on 99.3 The Lift.
• The Steelers will entertain the Raiders in an evening contest on 99.3 The Lift.

On Christmas Day, we’ll have an NFL triple-header on 99.3 The Lift…
• The Packers visit the Dolphins in a 1:00 contest.
• The Rams host the Broncos in a 4:30 game.
• The Cardinals entertain the Buccaneers in an evening contest.

MLB

The Tigers have claimed pitcher Zach Logue off waivers from the A’s. Logue struggled in his rookie season for Oakland last year, although he pitched well in two starts against Detroit. The Tigers designated reliever Ángel De Jesus for assignment to make room on the 40-man roster.
