Pioneers Sweep Weekend Set Against Wolverines – Sunday Sports Wrap

GLHL

The Portage Lake Pioneers completed a weekend sweep of the Calumet Wolverines with an 8-3 victory at Dee Stadium Saturday night.

NHL

The Devils scored twice in the third period to claim a come-from-behind 3-2 victory over the Red Wings Saturday night. Patrick Kane and Shayne Gostisbehere scored for Detroit. Michael Hutchinson made 33 saves, and took the loss in net.

The Wings are off until Wednesday, when they visit the Wild. Coverage will begin at 7:45 on 99.3 The Lift.

Detroit has brought defenseman Simon Edvinsson up from Grand Rapids. He’ll fill in for Olli Määttä, who suffered an upper body injury in Friday’s win over the Flyers. The Wings have also added goalie Alex Lyon to the injured reserve list, retroactive to December 16th.

NBA

The Pistons’ futility streak reached 26 games Saturday night, with a 126-115 loss to the Nets. Jaden Ivey led Detroit with 23 points. Cade Cunningham added 22, and Isaiah Stewart chipped in 20. Detroit tied the 2010-11 Cleveland Cavaliers and the 2013-14 Philadelphia 76ers for the longest single-season losing streak in NBA history.

The Pistons host the Nets Tuesday, with coverage at 6:35 on 99.3 The Lift.
