- Calumet stopped Bessemer 43-35. Micah Pieti scored 15 for the Copper Kings. Gavin Sturos and Kent Koskela each added eight.
- Ewen-Trout Creek smothered Lake Linden-Hubbell 68-18.
- L’Anse outscored Ontonagon 88-82 in overtime. Talan Larson scored 18 for the Purple Hornets. Jack Nelson had 36 for the Gladiators.
- West Iron County lost to Westwood 70-23.

College Volleyball
A familiar face will be returning to the Michigan Tech volleyball bench. Cindy Pindral has been named head coach, replacing Matt Jennings. Jennings recently resigned to relocate to Grand Rapids. Pindral spent seven seasons on the Huskies’ staff, beginning as a volunteer assistant in 2016, and rising to assistant head coach. She has been employed as the Department Administrator for Social Sciences at Tech and was also the Manager of Sustainability Projects and Outreach.
College Basketball
Michigan Tech’s Isabella Lenz has been named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Basketball Defensive Player of the Week.
College Hockey
Huskies goaltender Derek Mullahy has been selected as the Central Collegiate Hockey Association Goaltender of the Week. He made 59 saves as Tech earned a win and a tie at Bowling Green last weekend.
NHL
The Red Wings visit the Bruins tonight, with coverage beginning at 6:45 on 99.3 The Lift.
With Cam Talbot and Alex Lyon both sidelined with lower body injuries, Detroit has called highly-regarded prospect Sebastian Cossa up from Grand Rapids. There’s no word as to whether he or Ville Husso will start tonight.
NBA
The Pistons entertain the Bucks this evening. Cade Cunningham could return to the lineup, after practicing with the team yesterday. He’s been struggling with a hip injury.
NFL
In last night’s NFL game, the Broncos outscored the Browns 41-32.
There will be no qualifier in this week’s Wolf Pro Football Challenge, because Jeff Harju had a perfect score.
MLB
Former Tigers pitcher Matthew Boyd has signed a two-year, $30 million deal with the Cubs. Boyd came back from Tommy John surgery in August, and turned in a 2.72 ERA to help the Guardians win the American League Central Division.
