High School
In high school hockey last night…
– Teddy Perrault’s goal with 2.9 seconds remaining lifted Hancock to a 2-1 victory over Negaunee. It was Perrault’s first game with the Hancock varsity. Brody Budweg scored Hancock’s other goal. Dawson Kero made 26 saves for the Bulldogs. Freshman goaltender Preston Maki stopped 38 shots for the Miners.
– Calumet defeated Escanaba 4-1. Brent Loukus had a goal and two assists for the Copper Kings. Rory Anderson, Daylen Anderson and Ed Beiring also scored. Trevor Johnson had three assists. The Kings outshot the Eskymos 37-15. Nick Voelker got the win in net.

In boys high school basketball last night…
– Calumet defeated Hancock 42-32.
– Lake Linden-Hubbell shut down Baraga 62-35.
– Jeffers edged Ontonagon 57-54.
– Chassell downed Ewen-Trout Creek 61-48.
North Central overpowered Big Bay de Noc 92-52. The Jets boys basketball team now has 64 straight victories. They can tie the state record set by Chassell in the 1950s with a win at home against Mid-Peninsula on Tuesday, and could break the Panthers’ record at home against Bark River-Harris a week from tonight.

MTU
The Michigan Tech women’s basketball team struggled through the third quarter, but dominated the fourth quarter to claim a 72-62 victory over Northwood last night. The Huskies outscored the Timberwolves by 11 in the final stanza. Elizabeth Kelliher led Tech with a career-best 27 points.
Kyle Monroe scored 37 points and grabbed nine rebounds as the Tech men’s team earned a 72-62 win over Northwood last evening. The Huskies led by just three points with 1:44 remaining, but connected on 12 straight free throws to put the game away. Congratulations to coach Kevin Luke on his 400th career victory.
Both MTU teams host Lake Superior State tomorrow. The women’s game begins at 1:00, and the men’s contest at 3:00.
The Tech hockey team welcomes Minnesota State this weekend. Games begin at 7:07 tonight and tomorrow night.
NMU
The Northern Michigan University women’s basketball team defeated Lake Superior State 60-44 last night. The men lost to the Lakers 90-80. Both NMU teams will entertain Northwood tomorrow.
The NMU hockey team hosts Alaska-Anchorage tonight and tomorrow night.
Finlandia
The Finlandia University men’s hockey team skates at the Milwaukee School of Engineering tonight and tomorrow afternoon.
The Finlandia women’s hockey team hosts Adrian College. Faceoffs are at 7:15 this evening and 2:00 tomorrow afternoon at the Houghton County Arena.
Both Finlandia basketball teams play at Crown College tonight, and Minnesota-Morris tomorrow.
GLHL
The Calumet Wolverines host the Fond du Lac Bears tonight, and the De Pere Deacons tomorrow night. Both games begin at 7:30 at the Colosseum.
The Portage Lake Pioneers entertain the Bears Saturday evening at 7:30, and then host the Deacons Sunday at 1:30 at Dee Stadium.

The Detroit Red Wings skate at Buffalo tonight. Faceoff is at 7:00 on AM 1400 and FM 99.3, WCCY.
NBA
The Detroit Pistons entertain the Washington Wizards tomorrow night. Tipoff is at 6:00 on AM 1400 and FM 99.3, WCCY.
NFL
The Green Bay Packers face the Atlanta Falcons in the NFC title game Sunday afternoon. The New England Patriots play the Pittsburgh Steelers for the AFC Championship Sunday evening. You’ll hear both games on AM 1400 and FM 99.3, WCCY. Pregame coverage starts at 2:00.
