MLB – Tigers Rip Cleveland
The Detroit Tigers scored six runs in the fifth inning, and pounded the Cleveland Indians 7-3 last night. Andrew Romine homered for Detroit. David Price struggled early, but settled in to earn his seventh win of the season. He gave up one one on nine hits before leaving in the seventh. Andrew Romine homered for Detroit.
The Tigers wrap up that series at Cleveland this afternoon. Buck Farmer will pitch against Carlos Carrasco. Hear the first pitch at 12:10 on AM 1400 and FM 99.3 WCCY.
Farmer has been brought up from Toledo to start in place of Justin Verlander, who has been scratched with stiffness in his back. Ian Kroll has been sent down to make room. Manager Brad Ausmus says he doesn’t think Verlander’s back issue is serious.
The Milwaukee Brewers came from behind to edge New York Mets 3-2 last night. Adam Lind’s RBI double in the seventh was the game-winner. Mike Fiers gave up both New York runs over six innings, and earned the win.
The Brewers host the Mets again tonight. Jimmy Nelson will start against Bartolo Colon.

– At the Hancock Driving Park, Pat’s Foods/Mosquito Inn scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning, and claimed a 6-5 walk-off victory over Blue Sky Health last night. Lee Naugle powered the rally with a bases-loaded double, and scored the winning run on a throwing error.
– At the Stanton field, Wolverine/Orbit scored four times in the sixth inning, and beat the Stanton Wildcats 4-3. Joe Richard went the distance to earn the win for Wolverine.

Red Wings Announce Coaching Staff
Assistant coach Tony Granato and goaltending coach Jim Bedard will return to the Detroit Red Wings’ coaching staff this season. New head coach Jeff Blashill introduced his new crew yesterday. Among the highlights is an expanded role for former Red Wings star Chris Chelios, who will monitor games from the pressbox and provide input.
