Seulgi Lee scored a hat trick, as the Michigan Tech soccer team routed Lewis University 5-1 yesterday.

The Northern women’s soccer team got past Illinois-Springfield 2-0 yesterday.

MLB

Sawyer Gipson-Long made the most of his Major League debut, as the Tigers edged the White Sox 3-2 yesterday. Gipson-Long allowed one run on two hits over five innings. He gave up two more hits before leaving in the sixth, and was charged with another run. The Detroit offense staked him to an early lead, scoring three runs in the third on a two-run double by Spencer Torkelson and an RBI single by Andre Lipcius.

The Tigers have today off, and host the Reds tomorrow. Coverage will begin at 6:15 on 99.3 The Lift.

The Brewers fell to the Yankees 4-3 in 13 innings yesterday. The game was scoreless through 10 frames – in fact, Corbin Burnes, Devin Williams and Abner Uribe held New York hitless through 10 innings. Each team plated one run in the 11th, and two runs in the 12th. Kyle Higashioka’s double off Hoby Milner ended the game in the 13th.

The Brewers entertain the Marlins tonight. Brandon Woodruff will start against Jesús Luzardo.

The Reds and Cubs both won, so Milwaukee’s lead in the National League Central Division stands at three games over Chicago, and six-and-a-half games over Cincinnati.

NFL

The Packers opened their season with a convincing 38-20 victory over the Bears yesterday. Jordan Love threw three touchdown passes. Quay Walker returned an interception for a touchdown.

In last night’s contest, the Cowboys smothered the Giants 40-0.
