Saturday is the annual Econo Foods Kids Day at Michigan Tech. Tadych’s Econo Foods of Houghton has purchased 500 youth tickets that are good for all three Huskies games on Saturday – men’s and women’s basketball, and hockey. They can be used by children ages 14 and under. The tickets will be given away for free beginning at noon tomorrow at the Econo Foods service counter, on a first-come, first-served basis. There is a limit of four per customer.

NBA
The Detroit Pistons couldn’t hold a big early lead, and lost to the San Antonio Spurs 119-107 last night. Blake Griffin scored 34 points, and Andre Drummond collected 14 rebounds. The Pistons start a west coast trip against the Lakers in Los Angeles tomorrow night. Pregame coverage begins at 10:05 on 99.3 The Lift.

NHL

NFL
The Green Bay Packers have hired Matt LeFleur as their new head coach. As an offensive coordinator, LeFleur turned the Rams into the NFL’s highest-scoring team in 2017. Last season with the Titans, his offense finished 27th in the league, but was decimated by injuries. He’s 39 years old – just four years older than starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers – and grew up in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. He was the quarterback for Saginaw Valley State University from 2000 to 2002. Early coaching stops included Central Michigan University, and Northern Michigan University, where he coached quarterbacks and receivers in 2006.
