The Copper Country Ski Tigers competed in the Ascension Hodag Challenge Cross Country Ski Race in Rhinelander over the weekend. Against almost 400 racers from around the Midwest, the girls team finished fourth, and the boys team was sixth. See full results here.

The Detroit Red Wings host the Colorado Avalanche in a Martin Luther King Jr. Day matinee today. Coverage begins at 2:40 on 99.3 The Lift.

The Detroit Pistons visit the Washington Wizards for an MLK Day matinee this afternoon.

NFL

Kansas City and San Francisco will meet in the upcoming Super Bowl.
– The Chiefs defeated the Tennessee Titans 35-24 in the AFC title game yesterday. Patrick Mahomes threw for three touchdowns and rushed for another.
– The 49ers dispatched the Green Bay Packers 37-20 in the NFC championship game. Aaron Rodgers threw two touchdown passes for Green Bay, but also tossed a pair of interceptions, and lost a fumble.
