College Basketball

The Finlandia men’s basketball team lost at Northern Michigan 125-50 yesterday afternoon. The 75-point margin of victory was the largest in NMU history. Eight Wildcats reached double figures in scoring, with Dylan Kuehl topping the list at 22. John Schutz led the Lions with 10 points.

GLHL

The Portage Lake Pioneers defeated the De Pere Deacons 11-2 yesterday. Brett Hauswirth had a hat trick and an assist for the Pioneers.

NHL

The Wings visit the Capitals tonight. Because of NFL football on 99.3 The Lift, Wings coverage will start at 6:45 on KBear 102.3.

NBA

The Pistons dropped a 124-121 decision to the Nets last night. Bojan Bogdanovic scored 26, but his last-second three-point attempt to tie the game was blocked.

NFL

• Jared Goff connected with Brock Wright for a 51-yard scoring play on fourth down with 1:49 left in the game, as the Lions edged the Jets 20-17. New York missed a 58-yard field goal attempt with one second remaining that would have forced overtime. Detroit improves to 7-7 on the season.
• The Giants outscored the Commanders 20-12 in the Sunday night contest.
