The Detroit Tigers couldn’t hold an early lead, and lost 8-7 to the Pittsburgh Pirates last night. The Tigers scored twice in the first, then added five more in the third inning on home runs by Brandon Dixon and Harold Castro – his first in the majors. Jordan Zimmermann threw just four innings in his return from the injured list, giving up three runs. Nick Ramirez relieved him, and was charged with two runs in the fifth, and three in the sixth.

The Tigers have today off, and visit the Cleveland Indians tomorrow night. Matthew Boyd will start against Trevor Bauer. Pregame coverage will begin at 6:45 on 99.3 The Lift.

To make room for Zimmermann’s return to the roster, outfielder Victor Reyes was sent back to Toledo.

The Milwaukee Brewers dropped an 8-7 decision to the San Diego Padres last night. Milwaukee trailed by one heading into the seventh inning. Yasmani Grandal’s three-run homer gave them the lead, but the Padres responded with a three-run homer by Franmil Reyes off Jeremy Jeffress in the bottom of the seventh to claim the win.

After having been swept in San Diego, the Brewers host the Cincinnati Reds tonight. Jimmy Nelson will pitch against Tanner Roark.

NBA

The NBA Draft will be held tonight. The Pistons have the 15th and 45th picks by virtue of their standings position last season. They also added the 30th pick yesterday, in a trade with the Milwaukee Bucks. Milwaukee gets Jon Leuer. Detroit gets their first-round pick, and forward Tony Snell.
