A months-long effort to bring the National Hockey League to the Calumet Colosseum will pay off tonight, when the Detroit Red Wings and the Saint Louis Blues meet in the Kraft Hockeyville USA 2019 game.
The Red Wings are scheduled to arrive at the Colosseum this morning at 10:00, and the Blues at 10:30. The public is invited to welcome them.
Game-day skates will follow – a ticket or credentials are needed to attend those. A pep rally will begin at 4:00 at Calumet High School – that’s also for those with game tickets or credentials. Admission to tonight’s game is limited to those who already have tickets or credentials.
The official viewing party for those who did not receive tickets will take place at Agassiz Field. The gates will open at 5:00. Those who received wrist bands through the ticket application process will be given preference. Remember to bring the bands, and arrive early. Attendance will be capped at 2,000 people.
Those without wrist bands may also be able to get in, depending on turnout.
Weather forecasters say there’s little chance of rain, but temperatures will be in the mid-50s, so dress accordingly.
The game will be televised nationally on NBCSN. The Red Wings Radio Network will also broadcast the game. Our expanded pregame show will begin at 6:00 on KBear 102.3, with faceoff scheduled for 7:00.
