MTU Volleyball to Face Lewis in NCAA Tourney Opener

Finlandia
The Finlandia women’s basketball team lost 65-42 to Concordia-Moorhead yesterday afternoon. Katie Lundeen led the Lions with 11 points, and Harlee Froberg added 10. The women’s team will host the University of Dubuque tonight at 6:00 at the Paavo Nurmi Center.

MTU/NMU
The Michigan Tech men’s basketball team earned a 75-67 victory over McKendree University yesterday at the GLVC/GLIAC Challenge at Northern Michigan University. Bryan Heath led Tech with 23 points. The Huskies began their campaign Saturday with a 74-53 loss to Lewis University.

The Northern Michigan University men’s team defeated Lewis 77-59 yesterday. The Wildcats opened their season with a 93-70 romp over McKendree Saturday.

The NMU women’s basketball squad edged Indianapolis University 64-61 at the GLVC/GLIAC Challenge at Hillsdale College yesterday.

The MTU volleyball team will open the NCAA Division II tournament against Lewis University. The Huskies are seeded fifth in the Midwest Region, and the Flyers are seeded fourth. The first-round match will be played Thursday at Drury University in Springfield, Missouri.

NBA
The Detroit Pistons dropped a 113-103 decision to the Charlotte Hornets yesterday afternoon. Andre Drummond and Reggie Bullock each scored 23 for Detroit, and Drummond grabbed 22 rebounds. The Pistons visit the Toronto Raptors Wednesday night. Pregame coverage begins at 7:10 on 99.3 The Lift.

NFL
The Detroit Lions fell behind early, and lost 34-22 to the Chicago Bears yesterday. Matthew Stafford threw two touchdown passes and two interceptions, and was sacked six times.

Aaron Jones rushed for 145 yards and two touchdowns, as the Green Bay Packers outscored the Miami Dolphins 31-12 last night. Aaron Rodgers tossed two touchdown passes.
