The Michigan Tech basketball team dropped an 80-78 heartbreaker to Kentucky Wesleyan Saturday afternoon at the SDC. The Huskies trailed by 10 with 11 minutes remaining, before they mounted a comeback that saw them take a couple of brief leads in the closing minutes. Adam Stanford’s layup with three seconds left won the game for the Panthers. Kyle Monroe led MTU with 29 points.

The Calumet Wolverines edged the Portage Lake Pioneers 4-3 in overtime Saturday evening.

NBA
The Detroit Pistons play at Miami this evening. After missing a game because of knee tendinitis, Marcus Morris is expected to be back in the lineup for Detroit.

The Detroit Red Wings  skate at Toronto in the outdoor Centennial Classic this afternoon.

NFL
The NFL regular season wraps up today. The Packers-Lions game at Detroit will decide who wins the NFC North Division title. The winner will host their first playoff game. The loser will need to rely on the New York Giants defeating Washington to get a wild card playoff berth.

The Lions will play without running back Theo Riddick, who has been placed on the Injured Reserve list. Receiver Jace Billingsley has been activated to fill his roster spot. Center Travis Swanson is listed as doubtful. The Packers will be without running back James Starks, and have five players listed as questionable, including receiver Randall Cobb. The game has been moved to tonight. Kickoff is at 8:30 on AM 1400 and FM 99.3, WCCY.
