The Detroit Tigers and Milwaukee Brewers are off until Friday because of the All-Star break. The All-Star game will be played tonight in San Diego. Miguel Cabrera is the only Detroit Tiger in the game this year, and Jonathan Lucroy is the sole Brewer. Both are reserves. Chris Sale of the White Sox will be the American League starting pitcher. Johnny Cueto of the Giants will start for the National League.
Copper Country Women’s Fast Pitch Softball
Both of last night’s Copper Country Women’s Fast Pitch Softball League games were canceled because of weather and poor field conditions.

In Copper Country Twilight League baseball play tonight…
– Superior National Bank-Stanton will meet Pat’s Food-Mosquito Inn at the Hancock Driving Park.
– Wolverine-Orbit will face the Copper Country Miners at the Wolverine field.
Copper Country Horseshoe League
In Copper Country Horseshoe League play last night…
– L and L shut down Harter’s Carquest 9-0.
– Calumet One stopped Dreamland Two 8-1.
– Dreamland One defeated Calumet Electronics 7-2.
– Luigi’s beat Fat Lil Bandits 7-2.
The matches between Drift Inn and Harter’s Party Store, and Gasoline Alley and Ahmeek Fire Department were weathered out.
Canal Run
Online registration continues through Thursday for the Hancock Canal Run. The Run will take place on Saturday, with a half-marathon, and five and 10-mile runs and walks.
