MLB

Casey Mize earned his first win in more than two years, as the Tigers shut down the Twins 6-1 yesterday. Mize missed the past two seasons with serious injuries. Yesterday, he tossed six scoreless innings, scattering five hits. Recently recalled Buddy Kennedy drove in three runs with a homer and a sacrifice fly. Spencer Torkelson plated two runs.

The Tigers visit the Rays tonight. Tarik Skubal will start against Zack Littell. Coverage will start at 6:25 on 99.3 The Lift.

Colin Rea pitched shutout ball into the sixth inning, as the Brewers shaded the Cardinals 2-0 yesterday. Owen Miller singled home both of Milwaukee’s runs in the seventh inning.

The Brewers open a series at Pittsburgh tonight. Joe Ross will pitch against Jared Jones.

Milwaukee has added pitcher D.L. Hall to the injured list, with a sprained knee. Hill injured the knee while fielding a bunt in Saturday’s game. Jared Koenig has been called up from Nashville to fill in.
