MLB

Kenta Maeda’s struggles continued yesterday, as the Tigers lost to the Twins 12-3.  The game was called after seven innings because of rain, and declared completed. Maeda didn’t make it through the fourth inning. He was charged with nine runs on nine hits. Colt Keith homered for Detroit.

The Tigers begin a series at Cincinnati tonight. Reese Olson will start against Carson Spiers. Coverage will begin at 6:45 on 99.3 The Lift.

The Brewers fell to the Rockies 4-3 last night. Tobias Myers gave up three runs over the first two innings. Milwaukee came back and tied the game with Jackson Chourio’s double in the top of the sixth. Colorado scored the game-winner off Myers in the bottom of the sixth.

The Brewers visit the Dodgers tonight. Aaron Civale will pitch against Tyler Glasnow.

Civale joined his new club yesterday, after Wednesday’s trade with the Rays. Tampa Bay gets infield prospect Gregory Barrios in exchange. Civale had some successful seasons with the Guardians, but has struggled this year, with a record of 2-6, and a 5.07 ERA. He will become the 16th pitcher to start a game for Milwaukee this season.

NHL

The Red Wings have signed defenseman Tory Dello to a one-year, two-way contract. Dello split time between the AHL Chicago Wolves and Laval Rocket last season. He’ll provide some depth at Grand Rapids.
