Local Players Power Team Michigan NIT Hockey Victories – Friday Sports Wrap

Both Team Michigan squads earned victories in their opening games at the High School National Invitational Tournament in Minnesota last night…
• The Juniors played two-time defending champion North Dakota to a scoreless tie through three periods. In a shootout, North Dakota missed both of its shots. Team Michigan made both of theirs, including a goal by Houghton’s Mikey Maillette. The Juniors will face the Wisconsin Juniors this afternoon at 5:30 Eastern Time.
• The Seniors blanked Colorado 3-0. Camden Markham of the Gremlins netted a goal. The Seniors will face the Minnesota Juniors tonight at 10:00 Eastern Time.

In NBA Tournament first round games yesterday…

In the Eastern Conference…
• The 76ers defeated the Nets 102-97. Philly takes a 3-0 lead in that set.

In the Western Conference…
• The Warriors outscored the Kings 114-97. Sacramento leads that series 2-1.
• The Suns got past the Clippers 129-124. Phoenix leads that set 2-1.

• The Celtics visit the Hawks. Boston leads that series 2-0.
