• Jeffers entertains Cheboygan.

College Hockey
The Michigan Tech hockey team skates at Bemidji State tonight and tomorrow.
The Northern Michigan hockey squad plays at Ferris State tonight and tomorrow.
Both Finlandia hockey teams entertain Saint Norbert this weekend. The women play tonight at 5:00 and tomorrow at 1:00. The men face off tonight at 8:00, and tomorrow at 4:00.
College Volleyball
The Michigan Tech volleyball team will face Davenport University in the GLIAC tournament semifinals tomorrow. As the top seed in the tournament, Tech is hosting the championship tournament this weekend. Ferris State and Wayne State will meet in the first semifinal at noon. The Huskies will play the Panthers at 2:30.
College Basketball
Both Northern Michigan basketball teams earned non-conference victories at Minnesota-Crookston last night…
• The men’s team took a big early lead, and cruised to an 86-69 win. The Wildcats host Concordia-Wisconsin Sunday.
• The women’s team held off the Golden Eagles 50-48. Northern plays at Concordia-Saint Paul tomorrow.
Michigan Tech women’s basketball team welcomes Minnesota-Crookston tonight, and Minnesota-Duluth tomorrow. Both games start at 5:30.
The Tech men’s team plays at Minnesota-Crookston tomorrow.
The Finlandia men’s basketball team plays at the MBI Big Four tournament at the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago this weekend. They’ll open against the host Archers tonight, and face either Fontbonne University or Asbury University tomorrow.
The Finlandia women’s team plays at the Hope Tournament in Holland this weekend, taking on the host Dutchmen tonight, and Olivet College tomorrow.
College Football
Five Finlandia football players have been honored by the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference. Defensive lineman Dave Carlson, receiver Byron Owens and linebackers Kejuan Sanders and McEwen Stapleton were named to the All-UMAC second team. Receiver and kick returner Joshua Eve earned the UMAC All-Sportsmanship Award.
NHL
The Detroit Red Wings lost 5-2 to the Vegas Golden Knights last night. Givani Smith and Joe Veleno scored for the Wings. Thomas Greiss gave up four goals over the first two periods, and was replaced by Alex Nedeljkovic. Detroit captain Dylan Larkin did play in the game, after the COVID-19 test that forced his removal from Tuesday’s contest proved to be a false positive. Moritz Seider left in the third period with an injury. There’s no word as to what the injury is, or if he’ll miss any time.
The Wings visit the Arizona Coyotes tomorrow. Coverage will begin at 7:45 on 99.3 The Lift.
NBA
The Detroit Pistons host the Golden State Warriors tonight. Coverage will begin at 6:35 on 99.3 The Lift.
NFL
In last night’s NFL game, the New England Patriots blanked the Atlanta Falcons 25-0.
On Sunday…
• The Detroit Lions visit the Cleveland Browns for a 1:00 game. Hear the broadcast on 99.3 The Lift. Quarterback Jared Goff sat out practice again yesterday, as he deals with an oblique injury. If Goff can’t play Sunday, Tim Boyle would be his likely replacement. The Lions have still not activated him off injured reserve.
• The Green Bay Packers visit the Minnesota Vikings for a 1:00 contest.
