The Detroit Lions ripped up the Philadelphia Eagles 45-14 yesterday. Matthew Stafford threw five touchdown passes – three to Calvin Johnson. Ezekiel Ansah had a career-high 3 1/2 sacks, one of which caused a fumble that he recovered. Since firing their front office leadership, the Lions have won three straight.

The Carolina Panthers remained unbeaten, with a 33-14 victory over the Dallas Cowboys.

The Chicago Bears stunned the Green Bay Packers 17-13 in the rain at Lambeau Field last night. The Packers had a chance to win the game in the closing seconds, but two Aaron Rodgers passes from Chicago’s eight yard line into the endzone fell incomplete, including one that bounced off the hands of receiver James Jones. Rodgers played the final quarter with numbness in his left hand, after taking a hit to the shoulder.
