The Michigan Tech women’s tennis team wrapped up its 2016 season with an eighth place finish at the GLIAC Tournament. Kwang Suthijindawong was named to the All-GLIAC First Team for the fourth time in her career, although she had to sit out the tournament because of an injury.
NHL
The Detroit Red Wings lost to the Florida Panthers 5-2 yesterday. Petr Mrazek gave up three goals in the first period, and another in the second before he was replaced by Jimmy Howard. The Wings skate at Philadelphia Wednesday night. Faceoff is at 8:00 on AM 1400 and FM 99.3, WCCY.
NBA
The Detroit Pistons shut down the Milwaukee Bucks 98-83 last night. Andre Drummond scored 20 points, grabbed 23 rebounds and blocked three shots. The Pistons host the New York Knicks tomorrow night. Tip-off is at 7:30 on AM 1400 and FM 99.3, WCCY.
MLB
The Chicago Cubs eked out a 3-2 victory over the Cleveland Indians last night, and extended the World Series for at least one more game. The Indians lead the Fall Classic three games to two. Game six will be played in Cleveland tomorrow night.
NFL
The Detroit Lions’ three-game winning streak ended with a lackluster 20-13 loss to the Houston Texans yesterday. Matthew Stafford threw for 240 yards and a touchdown for Detroit, but the Lions could only gain 58 yards on the ground against one of the league’s worst rushing defenses.
Aaron Rodgers threw four touchdown passes, but the Green Bay Packers suffered a heartbreaking 34-33 loss to the Atlanta Falcons yesterday. The Packers held the lead late in the fourth quarter, but Atlanta quarterback Matt Ryan connected with Mohamed Sanu on a 12-yard touchdown pass with 31-seconds remaining to claim the win.
In last night’s game, the Dallas Cowboys got past the Philadelphia Eagles 29-23 in overtime.
Tonight, the Minnesota Vikings visit the Chicago Bears. Hear the broadcast on AM 1400 and FM 99.3, WCCY.
