High School

In cross country today, local teams will compete at the Calumet Invitational at the Swedetown Trails.

College Soccer

The Tech soccer team fell 1-0 to Ferris State yesterday.

The Finlandia women’s soccer team played to a 0-0 tie against Ripon College yesterday.

MLB

The Tigers lost 11-5 to the White Sox yesterday. Drew Hutchison gave up single runs in the first two innings, and left as Chicago scored five times in the fifth. Willi Castro and Javier Báez homered.

The Tigers host the Orioles tonight. Tyler Alexander will start against Tyler Wells. Because of NFL football, Tigers coverage will begin at 6:45 on KBear 102.3.

Detroit is expected to bring Miguel Cabrera back from the injured list today. He’s been nursing an injured biceps muscle. Kody Clemens has been sent down to Toledo to make room.

The Brewers fell to the Yankees 12-8 yesterday. Kolten Wong, Tyrone Taylor and Rowdy Tellez homered.

The Brewers host the Mets tonight. Corbin Burnes will pitch against Max Scherzer.

• The Lions dominated the Commanders in the first half, then held on for a 36-27 victory. Jared Goff threw four touchdown passes. Amon-Ra St. Brown caught nine passes for 116 yards, and ran the ball twice for 68 yards.
• Aaron Rodgers tossed two touchdown passes, as the Packers stuffed the Bears 27-10. Aaron Jones rushed for 132 yards.
