The Michigan Tech soccer team scored twice in the second half, and came from behind to defeat at Bemidji State 2-1 yesterday afternoon. Jacqueline Mielke’s goal in the 66th minute tied the contest, and freshman Claire Dagesse’s first goal as a Husky was the game-winner in the 86th minute.

The Finlandia University men’s soccer team fell to Otterbein University 7-0 yesterday.

The Detroit Tigers fell further back in the playoff race with a 3-1 loss to the Baltimore Orioles yesterday. Justin Verlander struggled through five innings, and took the loss. He gave up two home runs, and all three Baltimore runs.

The Tigers open a four-game home set against the Minnesota Twins tonight. Daniel Norris will start against Ervin Santana. Hear the first pitch at 7:10 on AM 1400 and FM 99.3, WCCY.

After struggling in his first start back from the Disabled List, Jordan Zimmermann will skip his next turn in the rotation. Instead, he’ll pitch a simulated game, to see if he can get back on track.

Cleveland won, so the Tigers now trail the Indians by seven games in the American League Central Division. They are two games behind in the race for the second American League wild card playoff berth.

Ryan Braun’s long ninth-inning home run lifted the Milwaukee Brewers to a 2-1 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals yesterday. Braun’s shot came after the Cardinals had scratched out a run in the eighth inning to tie the contest. Zach Davies turned pitched into the eighth for Milwaukee, and struck out seven. He left with a runner on third base. Tyler Thornburgh blew the save, but then got the win.

The Brewers open a three-game set against the Reds in Cincinnati tonight. Wily Peralta will pitch against Keyvius Sampson.

The Detroit Lions built a 21-10 halftime lead, then came from behind to edge the Indianapolis Colts 39-35 yesterday. The Colts took a 35-33 lead on an Andrew Luck touchdown pass with with 37 seconds remaining. Matthew Stafford responded with a quick drive that set up a 43-yard Matt Prater field goal to put Detroit back on top. Indianapolis was called for a safety on the game’s final play, boosting the margin to four points.

Aaron Rodgers threw two touchdown passes, as the Green Bay Packers got past the Jacksonville Jaguars 27-23 yesterday. Jordy Nelson caught six passes in his first game since injuring his knee in the 2015 preseason.

In last night’s game, the New England Patriots slipped past the Arizona Cardinals 23-21. There are two games tonight. The Steelers play at Washington in the early game, and the Rams visit the 49ers in the late contest. We’ll join the second game after Tigers baseball on AM 140 and FM 99.3, WCCY.
