College Volleyball

The Finlandia University volleyball team entertains Northland College tonight. Coverage will begin at 6:40 on KBear 102.3.

College Soccer

Finlandia’s Christian Mendoza-Huynh has been named the Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week. Mendoza-Huynh scored two goals as the Lions earned victories over Monmouth and Edgewood.

MLB

The Tigers had yesterday off, and host the Royals tonight. Joey Wentz will start against Zack Greinke. Coverage begins at 6:20 on 99.3 The Lift.

The Brewers also had yesterday off, and entertain the Cardinals this evening. Adrian Houser will pitch against Miles Mikolas.

NFL

In last night’s NFL contest, the Cowboys got past the Giants 23-16.

The Lions will finish their season without defensive back Tracy Walker. He has a torn ACL. Running back D’Andre Swift suffered a shoulder sprain during Sunday’s game. He may be held out for a couple of weeks because of that and his gimpy ankle.

NHL

The Red Wings open their preseason schedule tonight at Pittsburgh. Listen for regular-season Wings games on 99.3 The Lift.

Running

The 17th Annual Jeffers Athletics Walk/Run will take place Saturday at the high school. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. The 5K Walk/Run and 10K begin at 9:00 a.m. The cost is $25 for the 10K, $15 for the 5K Walk/Run, and $50 for a group of four for the 5K Walk/Run. Sign up at Jeffers High School.

The 5k Bridge Run Saturday honors POW/MIA individuals, and raises money for the Hubbell VFW Post to assist local veterans. Onsite registration begins at 9:30 at the ROTC Building at Michigan Tech, and the run starts at 11. For more details and registration information, click here.
