– Calumet opens play at the Redette Shootout at Marquette High School. They’ll face Petoskey at 5:45. Marquette and Sault Ste. Marie will play in the second opening day game.

The Detroit Pistons stunned the Cleveland Cavaliers 106-90 last night. Cleveland rested All-Pro LeBron James for the game. Detroit made them pay, pulling away late in the third quarter to break their five-game losing streak. Six Pistons scored in double figures, led by Tobias Harris with 21 points. The Pistons will entertain the Milwaukee Bucks tomorrow night. Tip-off will be at 7:30 on AM 1400 and FM 99.3, WCCY.

The Detroit Red Wings will host the Buffalo Sabres this evening. Faceoff is at 7:30 on AM 1400 and FM 99.3, WCCY.

The Detroit Lions’ bid to clinch a playoff berth fell flat with a 42-21 loss to the Dallas Cowboys last night. The game started well for the Lions, who scored touchdowns on their first three possessions. That was all they got, though, and the Cowboys scored the game’s final 28 points. Detroit is now 9-6, and tied with the Packers for first place in the NFC North. The conference championship will be decided Sunday night in Detroit. Hear the broadcast on AM 1400 and FM 99.3, WCCY.
