Detroit’s acquisition of James Wiseman is now official. The four-team trade that brought the 7-foot center to the Pistons was called into question after Gary Payton II failed his physical with the Warriors. Payton was the highest-profile player in the transaction. If Golden State had rejected the deal, all aspects would have been rescinded. As part of the deal, Detroit sent Saddiq Bey to the Falcons, and Kevin Knox to the Trailblazers. The Warriors have now accepted the trade, although they could file a complaint against Portland for withholding medical information about Payton.

NFL

The Chiefs scored 17 fourth-quarter points, and came from behind to edge the Eagles 38-35 in the Super Bowl last night. Harrison Butker’s 27-yard field goal with eight seconds remaining provided the winning margin. Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes was named the game’s Most Valuable Player.
