In high school volleyball last night, L’Anse dropped the first set, but came back to beat Baraga 3-1 (16-25, 25-16, 25-22, 26-24).

Last weekend’s split against Alabama-Huntsville dropped the Michigan Tech hockey team one slot in the USCHO.com national poll. The Huskies are ranked 16th this week. Like last week, they received honorable mention votes in the USA Today poll. Tech plays at 12th-ranked Minnesota State this weekend.
NHL
The Detroit Red Wings will skate at Buffalo tonight. Pregame will begin at 7:10 on 99.3 The Lift.
NBA
The Detroit Pistons couldn’t climb out of an early hole, and fell to the Philadelphia 76ers 97-86 last night. Detroit made just six of 30 three-point attempts. Reggie Jackson scored 16, and Andre Drummond collected 14 rebounds. The Pistons host the Minnesota Timberwolves tomorrow night. Tip-off is at 7:00 on 99.3 The Lift.
NFL
In last night’s NFL game, Philadelphia defeated Washington 34-24. If you played The Wolf Pro Football Challenge, you must have selected at least 12 games correctly to be eligible to become our weekly winner.
MLB
The World Series opens tonight, as the Los Angeles Dodgers host the Houston Astros.
Trick or Trot Run
The annual Trick or Trot 5k run will be held Saturday at 10:00 on the Tech Trails. The race is open to individuals or teams. There will be prizes for top finishers in several divisions, as well as a best costume award. You can sign up online for a discounted rate through tomorrow. You can also sign up onsite before 9:30 Saturday morning. To register, or get more information, click here. The race is a fundraiser for the MTU cross country teams.
