In high school volleyball tonight…

Local cross country teams will run at the WestPAC meet on the Chassell Trails this afternoon.
This afternoon’s Calumet JV football game against Ironwood has been canceled. Instead, the Copper Kings JV will face the Lake Linden-Hubbell JV at 4:00 at Lake Linden.
Finlandia
Veteran high school cross country coach Arnie Kinnunen has been hired to restart the Finlandia University cross country program. Kinnunen has coached at Calumet High School for the past eight seasons, and has been named U.P. Coach of the Year twice. Learn more about Kinnunen’s appointment here.
NHL
The Detroit Red Wings will host the Carolina Hurricanes tomorrow night. Faceoff is at 7:30 on AM 1400 and FM 99.3 WCCY.
NBA
The Detroit Pistons used a strong fourth quarter to defeat the Chicago Bulls 114-91 last night. Reggie Jackson scored 20 points. The Pistons will continue their exhibition season Sunday afternoon at San Antonio.
MLB
The Kansas City Royals and the Toronto Blue Jays will meet in the American League Championship Series. The Royals advanced with a 7-2 victory over the Houston Astros yesterday, and the Jays eliminated the Rangers with a 6-3 win.
The New York Mets and the Los Angeles Dodgers will decide their National League Divisional Series tonight. The winner will face the Chicago Cubs for the National League pennant.
NFL

Bridge Run, Glow Run Saturday
The POW/MIA 5K Bridge Run will take place Saturday morning. Check in and late registration will be held at the MTU ROTC Building from 7:45 until 8:45. The race will start at 9:00. You can also sign up online here.
The Copper Country Track Club Glow Run will take place on the Tech Trails Saturday night at 8:00. Participants may run or walk on a 3K or 6K course. You may sign up online here or at the Tech trail head beginning an hour before the race.
Ski Tigers Information Night Sunday
The Copper Country Ski Tigers Race Team Information Night will be held at the Nara Chalet Sunday at 6:00. The Ski Tigers middle school and high school teams compete in local, regional, and national cross country ski races. For more details, click here.
