– Lake Linden-Hubbell v Hancock – not reported.
– Ontonagon shut out Chassell 3-0.
– Baraga blanked Ewen-Trout Creek 3-0.
Calumet and Hancock were the winners yesterday at the Eighth Grade Girls’ Basketball Tournament in Calumet. In Division II, the Copper Kings edged Baraga 33-32. Molly Larson scored 20 for Calumet. Madelyn Turpeinen had 16 for Baraga. In Division I, the Bulldogs defeated Houghton 25-20. Taylor Sebbas had 16 points for Hancock, while Josie Conners scored eight for Houghton.

In the American League Championship Series, the Kansas City Royals blasted the Toronto Blue Jays 14-2 yesterday. KC leads that best-of-seven set three games to one, and could wrap up a berth in the World Series with a win at Toronto this afternoon.
The New York Mets took a three games to none lead in the National League Championship Series with a 5-2 victory over the Chicago Cubs yesterday. Game four of that series will be played tonight in Chicago.
