Asdrubel Cabrera scored on a botched double-play attempt, as the New York Mets edged the Milwaukee Brewers 2-1 in 11 innings Friday night. The misplay came long after starters Junior Guerra and Matt Harvey had left the game. Each gave up one run. In the top of the 11th, New York loaded the bases against Blaine Boyer. With one out, Matt Reynolds ripped a line drive to shortstop Jonathan Villar. Villar caught the ball, but it fell out of his glove. He tossed the ball to Scooter Gennett at second base. Gennett stepped on the bag to retire Kelly Johnson, who was attempting to run from first to second. At that point, Gennett could have thrown to first base, to retire Reynolds. He could also have tried to tag Wilmer Flores, the runner caught between second and third. Instead, he began to chase Johnson back to first base – forgetting that Johnson was already out. In the confusion, Cabrera raced home from third base with the winning run.

The Brewers continue that home set against the New York Mets this afternoon. Wily Peralta will pitch against Logan Verrett.

In the middle rounds of the Major League Baseball amateur draft last night, The Tigers selected pitchers Kyle Funkhouser with the 115th pick, Mark Ecker with pick 145, and Brian Garcia with the 175th pick. The Brewers grabbed pitchers Braden Webb with the 82nd pick, Corbin Burnes with pick 111, and Zack Brown with the 141st pick, and took catcher Payton Henry with pick 171. The draft concludes today.

NBA
The Golden State Warriors sank 17 three-point shots, and defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers 108-97 Friday night. The Warriors lead the NBA championship series three games to one. Game five will be played Monday night.

NHL
The NHL Stanley Cup series will continue Sunday night. The Pittsburgh Penguins lead the San Jose Sharks three games to two. Hear the broadcast on AM 1400 and FM 99.3, WCCY.
