High School

In high school volleyball last night…
• Baraga swept L’Anse 3-0.
• Jeffers fell to Ewen-Trout Creek 3-0.

In volleyball tonight…
• Calumet entertains Hancock. Coverage begins as early as 6:10 on KBear 102.3.
• Lake Linden-Hubbell travels to Ironwood.
• Dollar Bay-Tamarack City hosts Bessemer.
• Baraga welcomes Ontonagon

College Volleyball

The Michigan Tech volleyball team visits Minnesota-Duluth tonight.

College Soccer

Michigan Tech goalkeeper Erika Gabriel has been named the GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week. Gabriel earned her fourth shutout of the season when the Huskies upset nationally-ranked Ferris State on Sunday. 

College Hockey

After a weekend off, the Michigan Tech hockey team remains at number-18 in this week’s USCHO.com poll. The Huskies return to the ice this weekend with a non-conference road trip to Clarkson.

NHL

The Detroit Red Wings visit the Washington Capitals tomorrow. Coverage will begin at 6:45 on 99.3 The Lift.

NBA

The Detroit Pistons lost to the Atlanta Hawks 122-104 last night. Saddiq Bey and Kelly Olynyk each scored 21 points.

The Pistons visit the Philadelphia 76ers Thursday.

MLB

The Atlanta Braves will face the Houston Astros in the World Series, beginning tonight in Houston.

Longtime Milwaukee Brewers coach Ed Sedar has retired. Sedar spent 30 years with the Brewers, including stints as third base coach and first base coach, and a number of minor league coaching and managing positions.

NFL

Last night, Brian Johnson’s field goal with two minutes remaining gave the New Orleans Saints a 13-10 victory over the Seattle Seahawks.
