High School

In high school hockey last evening…
• Jeffers lost to Marquette 6-3. Brit Heinonen, Cody Turner and Griffin Heinonen scored for the Jets. Kason Helminen made 44 saves.

Pairings have been announced for the Trenton Hockey Showcase February 2nd and 3rd.
• Houghton will face Detroit Catholic Central Friday at 5:30, then take on the Notre Dame Academy from Wisconsin Saturday at 11:00. Both games will be broadcast on the Voice of the Gremlins, 97.7 The Wolf. Houghton, currently ranked number-two overall in Michigan, will meet the top team in Michigan, and the top team from Wisconsin.
• Calumet will play the Bay City Wolves Friday morning at 9:00, then face Forest Hills North-Eastern Saturday morning at 10:40. Both games will be broadcast on the Voice of the Copper Kings, KBear 102.3.
• Hancock will meet Forest Hills North-Eastern Friday morning at 9:20, then take on Livonia Stevenson Saturday morning at 11:20.
• Marquette will face Trenton and Salem.

In high school boys basketball last night…
• Houghton outscored Gwinn 62-38. Luke Hill led the Gremlins with 19 points. Isaiah Lawson had 13, and Kyle Primeau had 10.
• Baraga outscored Bessemer 58-46.

In boys basketball tonight…
• Calumet entertains West Iron County. Coverage will begin around 7:00 on the Voice of the Copper Kings, KBear 102.3.
• Hancock visits L’Anse.
• Chassell tips off at Ontonagon.

In girls play this evening…
• Houghton hosts Westwood.
• Dollar Bay-Tamarack City plays at Bessemer.

In girls-boys doubleheaders…
• Lake Linden-Hubbell plays at Ewen-Trout Creek.
• Jeffers travels to Ironwood.

College Basketball

In college basketball tonight…
• Both Michigan Tech teams welcome Ferris State – the women at 5:30, and the men at 7:30.
• Both Northern teams entertain Lake Superior State.

College Hockey

In college hockey…
• Michigan Tech skates at Saint Thomas tonight and Saturday night.
• Northern Michigan visits Lake Superior State tomorrow night and Saturday night.

NHL

The Red Wings will host the Oilers tonight, with coverage starting at 6:45 on 99.3 The Lift. 

NBA

The Pistons got off to a cold start, and lost to the Spurs 130-108 last night. Jalen Duren led Detroit with 21 points and 12 rebounds.

The Pistons welcome the Rockets tomorrow. Coverage will begin at 7:05 on 99.3 The Lift.

NFL

Packers quarterback Jordan Love has been named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week for the second straight week. Love threw for 316 yards and two touchdowns in Green Bay’s win over the Bears Sunday.

The Packers open the playoffs at Dallas in a 4:30 game on Sunday. The Lions host the Rams in an 8:00 contest. All of the NFL playoff games will be broadcast on 99.3 The Lift.
