High School

In high school baseball yesterday…
• Jeffers swept Westwood 12-1 and 9-5. Kyle Heltunen pitched a complete game in the opener, striking out six. In the nightcap, he had two hits and drove in five runs.
• At the Negaunee Invitational yesterday, the host Miners defeated Calumet 7-2 in the championship match. Houghton fell to Marquette 8-6 in the consolation game.

NBA

The NBA Tournament conference semifinals wrap up this afternoon, as the Celtics host the 76ers in game seven of their Eastern Conference series. The winner will face the Heat for the conference championship. The Lakers and Nuggets will play for the Western Conference title.

NHL

In NHL second-round playoff games yesterday…

• The Kraken doubled up the Start 6-3. That series is tied 3-3.

Today…

• The Oilers host the Golden Knights. Vegas leads that set 3-2.

MLB

The Tigers collected just three hits in a 5-0 loss to the Mariners yesterday. Alex Faedo gave up three runs over six innings, and took the loss.

That series wraps up today in Detroit. Joey Wentz will start against Logan Gilbert. Coverage will begin at 1:15 on 99.3 The Lift.

Joey Wiemer’s sacrifice fly drove home Brian Anderson with the winning run in the bottom of the ninth, as the Brewers shaded the Royals 4-3. Christian Yelich hit two home runs. Starter Adrian Houser struggled, giving up three runs on eight hits over four innings. Four relievers limited Kansas City to just one hit over the rest of the game, with Devin Williams earning the win.

The Brewers host the Royals again this afternoon. Colin Rea will pitch against Jordan Lyles.
