The high school baseball tournament opens today.

In Division Three…
• Calumet plays at Negaunee. Coverage will begin at 3:45 on the Voice of the Copper Kings, KBear 102.3,
• Hancock entertains Westwood

In Division Four District 97…
• L’Anse plays at Gogebic.
• Lake Linden-Hubbell opens at Ironwood.

In non-tournament games…
• Houghton travels to Iron Mountain.
• Ontonagon plays at Ewen-Trout Creek.

In non-tournament softball games today…
• Houghton plays at Ishpeming.
• Calumet hosts Negaunee.

NHL

In the NHL tournament last night, the Stars got two late goals, and defeated the Oilers 5-3. Dallas takes a 2-1 lead in the Western Conference championship series, with game four set for tomorrow in Edmonton.

The Eastern Conference championship series continues tonight, as the Panthers host the Rangers. New York has a 2-1 lead in that set.

NBA

In the NBA tournament, Derrick White’s three-pointer with 45 seconds remaining gave the Celtics a 105-102 win over the Pacers. Boston wins the Eastern Conference title, and advances to the NBA championship series.

The Western Conference series continues tonight, as the Mavericks host the Timberwolves. Dallas leads that set 3-0.

MLB

The Tigers had yesterday off, and host the Pirates tonight. Tarik Skubal will pitch against Jared Jones. Coverage will begin at 6:15 on 99.3 The Lift.

The Brewers broke open a scoreless game with five runs in the eighth inning, and clubbed the Cubs 5-1 yesterday. Willy Adames’ three-run homer was the big blow. Robert Gasser struck out seven over six scoreless innings, and gave up just three hits.

The Brewers host the Cubs again tonight. Freddy Peralta will start against Ben Brown.

• Calumet One takes on Maple Leaf at the Maple Leaf.
• Harter’s Party Store faces Calumet Electronics at Eva’s Hideaway.
