High School
The high school baseball and softball playoffs begin today…
• In Division Three softball, Calumet entertains Westwood. Coverage will begin at 5:45 on 97.7 The Wolf.
• In Division Four softball, Jeffers plays at Gogebic at 4:30 Eastern Time.
• In Division Three baseball, Calumet welcomes Westwood. Coverage will begin at 5:45 on KBear 102.3.
• In Division Four baseball, L’Anse entertains Ironwood at 4:00, and Lake Linden-Hubbell hosts Gogebic at 4:00.
In regular-season baseball today, Jeffers plays at Houghton.
In regular-season softball, Hancock hosts Iron Mountain.
In high school track, Houghton will host the Dan Juntilla Invitational this afternoon.
NBA
The Heat eliminated the Celtics 103-84, to win the Eastern Conference finals 4-3. The championship series will begin Thursday, when Miami plays at Denver.
NHL
The Golden Knights dispatched the Stars 6-0, and claimed the Western Conference championship 4-2. Vegas will host Florida in the opening game of the Stanley Cup finals Saturday.
MLB
The Tigers collected just five singles in a 5-0 loss to the Rangers yesterday. Matthew Boyd pitched into the seventh, and was charged with all five runs, although two came in after he was replaced by Mason Englert.
The Tigers host the Rangers again this evening. Alex Faedo will start against Martín Pérez. Coverage will begin at 6:15 on 99.3 The Lift.
The Brewers had yesterday off, and begin a series at Toronto tonight. Adrian Houser will pitch against Yusei Kikuchi.
Milwaukee has designated first baseman Luke Voit for assignment. Voit has been sidelined since mid-May because of a neck injury, although he had begun a rehab assignment with Nashville. Pitcher Álex Claudio, who was recently placed on waivers, has not been claimed by another team, and has been assigned to the Sounds.
