Hoyt Named MTU Women’s Basketball Coach

Former MTU women’s basketball standout Sam Hoyt is returning to campus as the team’s new head coach.

Hoyt led the Huskies to the 2011 NCAA Division II title game. She won numerous individual awards during her career, and was an Academic All-American.

Since her graduation, she has served as an assistant coach at  Division I Youngstown State (under former MTU head coach John Barnes), and at Division II Northwood University. Last season, she was assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for Division II University of Sioux Falls.
