The Brewers’ late comeback fell short in a 6-5 loss to the Cubs. Starter Tobias Myers lasted just three innings, surrendering four runs. After Chicago tacked on another run in the sixth, the Crew stormed back with four in the top of the seventh, powered by an Oliver Dunn triple and a Blake Perkins home run. The Cubs added a run in the bottom of the eighth. Trailing by two in the top of the ninth, Milwaukee plated one run on a single by William Contreras. But, with two runners on base, Tyler Black struck out, and Willy Adames grounded into a force out to end the game.

The Brewers play in Chicago again today. Freddy Peralta will pitch against Javier Assad.

Joey Weimer has been added to Milwaukee’s injured list, after experiencing discomfort in a knee Friday. The diagnosis is a strained muscle, and team officials hope he’ll be able to return in a couple of weeks. Andruw Monasterio has been brought up from Nashville to fill in. The Brewers also optioned pitcher Corbin Martin down to the Sounds.
