The Houghton High School hockey team claimed the top two honors in the Great Lakes Hockey Conference voting released this afternoon.
Gremlins goaltender Bryant Lee was named the Jim Crawford Player of the Year. First-year coach Micah Stipech was honored as the Don Miller Coach of the Year.
Hancock freshman Tevin Stukel shared the Rick Miller Rookie of the Year honors with Marquette sophomore Kyle Moyer.
Local players named to the All Conference First Team include Mike Maillette and Connor Raffaelli from Houghton, Todd Kilpela from Hancock, and Cage Osterman from Jeffers.
Local players placed on the All Conference Second Team include Cam Anderson and Hunter Tuoriniemi from Calumet, and Jace DeForge from Houghton.
Honorable Mention votes went to Houghton’s Connor Arko, Hancock’s Bryce Hanner, Calumet’s Brendan Boberg, and Jeffers’ Kailob Bianco.

The Gremlins finished first in the conference, with a league record of 9-0-1. Marquette placed second, with Jeffers third, Hancock fourth, and Calumet sixth.
