MLB

The Detroit Tigers suffered a lopsided 10-1 loss to the Cleveland Indians last night. Cleveland scored four runs off Spencer Turnbull over the first five innings, then blew the game open with six runs off nick Ramirez and David McKay in the seventh. Detroit’s only run came on a Ronny Rodriguez RBI single in the second.

The Tigers host the Indians again tonight. Jordan Zimmermann will start against Aaron Civale. Pregame coverage will begin at 6:45 on 99.3 The Lift.

Miguel Cabrera left last night’s game with tightness in his left bicep. He doesn’t think the injury is serious.

Utility player Niko Goodrum has been diagnosed with an adductor strain. His season is probably over.

The Milwaukee Brewers slipped farther out of the National League Central Division race with a 6-3 loss to the Saint Louis Cardinals last night. Adrian Houser turned in a strong start, giving up a run over five innings. The Cards scored three runs off Matt Albers in the seventh to take the lead, and added two insurance tallies in the ninth. Yasmani Grandal homered for Milwaukee.

The Brewers conclude that home series against the Cardinals this afternoon. Jordan Lyles will start against Jack Flaherty.

Milwaukee is now 6.5 games behind the first-place Cardinals, and 3.5 games behind the second-place Chicago Cubs.
